All socialism is socialism for wealthy people.

Capitalism is meritocracy based on productivity. Yes, if you have money, you can make yourself a little more productive. You can go to an expensive college and even if you don’t learn much, the diploma looks impressive.

But none of that compares to the productivity of just working. The millennial who comes out Reed with a quarter million in debt and no marketable skills is as much as a living cliché as the entrepreneur born into poverty.

Socialism though favors people who can manipulate the system well. Everything of value is allocated according to government diktat, so once you have the ear of the powerful — and what way is easier than being rich? — you can get whatever you want.
