Devising good speech policy isn’t “profoundly hard”. It isn’t hard at all. It’s totally fucking impossible.
The problem isn’t the degree of nuance. It is that laws are applied by the powerful, not by the just.
Ask yourself “Do I trust Donald Trump to decide what speech should be allowed and what speech should not?”
Now remember: that is the actual question. The President and the people he appoints enforce the law. Who do you think they are going to be cracking down on?
