In a none-to-reliable newspaper I used to read, there was an article about a driver, who upon being cut free from the crumpled wreckage of his car, indignantly swore to the police and firemen, “He came out of nowhere and hit me!” One of the policemen pointed out that there was no other vehicle involved, and he had simply plowed into a tree. “The tree got in my way,” the driver insisted.
Is the economy unequal? Yup. Are there numerous systemic failures? Probably. Are your financial troubles all Ronald Reagan’s fault? Well, maybe not, but let’s say they are.
But be quite certain: the tree is not going to jump out your way.
The economy is as it is. You can either work with that fact, and prosper, or continue to blame it for your situation.
As for “tips”: not all advice is good advice, but good advice is only going to come from people who are good at whatever you are trying to do. You want good advice about how to be poor? Ask a poor person. You want good advice about how to not be poor? Ask a not-poor person.
