The Big Bang of the Brain: Is Humanity Evolving Toward the Image of God?

Darwin was correct about species evolving to promote the survival of the fittest, but he didn’t have the whole story. According to computer models, the big bang of the brain occurred far too quickly to be attributed strictly to survival of the fittest. A viable explanation follows.

There is an underlying basis of existence. Modern physicists call it “the unified field”. Everything was born out of that field and gravitates back to it. It is the source of infinite intelligence and harmony that birthed and sustains the universe.

Much like gravity, the pull of that field is what accelerated the process of evolution. You can call it attraction, induction, propulsion, or whatever you want. What is important to understand is: the propellant, the source of coherence, accelerated evolution in a direction. For those who like a theological perspective, that’s what “created in the image of God” actually means.

Anthropologists have found evidence that the human brain underwent an accelerated evolutionary transformation as compared to other mammals. This swift brain evolution allowed us to leave our apelike ways and become fully human. What was going on during that process is fascinating.

All species, regardless of their level of evolution, slowly, slowly gravitate back to the unified field as they evolve. This happens because as they evolve, they resonate more and more fully with the coherence and harmony contained in the unified field.

This process can be compared to a tractor beam pulling a satellite toward a mothership. It gives the satellite direction and acceleration toward the mothership. As the satellite gets closer and closer, the tractor beam becomes stronger, until the satellite plugs directly into the mothership. At that point, the satellite becomes fully enlivened with all the knowledge contained within the mothership itself.

With the evolution of species, the gravitational pull slowly evolves the brain to the point where it can fully embody the totality of coherence, harmony, and knowledge contained within the structure of the unified field. When the structure of consciousness of the brain is close enough to the structure of the unified field, it is as if ‘clicks in’, like being connected to a tractor beam. The consciousness of the brain resonates with the unified field. As a result, the order of the consciousness in the brain is amplified exponentially. This propels the evolution of the brain at an incredible rate. It’s as if before, evolution was functioning on batteries. But at the moment of connection, suddenly the evolutionary process was plugged into a wall socket.

We can think of this accelerated evolution as the big bang of the brain. This larger context allows us to reconcile Darwinism with creationism, while also explaining what could account for above normal evolutionary rates.

However, the elegance of this understanding goes far beyond this reconciliation. Even more importantly, it indicates unlimited human potential. It speaks to the magnificent transformation of evolution itself. Does evolution ever culminate or is it ongoing eternally? You can speak to it as culmination, but that is a whole other lecture. Imagine living a level of life where the infinite intelligence, coherence, and harmony underlying all existence are lived through us in a spontaneous, natural, and effortless manner.

Remarkably, this is the very thing the ancient Seers and Sages have spoken of through the millennia. The technique they offered to facilitate this process is proper meditation, tapping into the infinite source that dwells within the depth of our own consciousness. It is a means of gaining knowledge and evolutionary action, not by looking outward to the surface of life, but rather by directly tapping into what dwells at the depth.
