tUnE-yArDs came about with an amazing album, W H O K I L L, in 2011 with two of my favorite songs of all-time in “Bizness” and “Powa” so when she announced that she was finally coming out with an album in 2014, I was PUMPED. Her new album has come with mixed reviews and I think that’s BULLSHIT. Is it as amazballs as her last album? I don’t think so. Is it a great album? YES. Personally I think the two songs I have below are two of her best.

Why do you continue to bless us Chaz? WHY ARE YOU SO GENEROUS?!? He could have stopped after dropping one of my favorite albums of last year, but he can’t stop. He drops a proper album, then changes his name and drops a dope EP, then repeats the cycle. It’s really battle between him and Migos for the hardest working artists in show business.
“That Look” | Flume
THAT NEGATIVE DROP THO!
This song is so damn hot it can’t even stay on the internet! And that’s a damn shame because the music video for this song is RIDICULOUS. Flume, Disclosure, and Odesza are saving EDM. Hopefully this song transforms the genre.
“Just Like Me” | Betty Who
People who know me know I love me some Betty Who. She literally represents 2014 for me. I discovered her in January and have now seen her three times in Chicago. She finally released her debut album and it’s amazing. This is my favorite song on the album.
“Superlove” | Charli XCX
Another rising pop star that you might only know from “Fancy” which is a damn shame. Unlike Iggy, Charli has TRUE talent, and she’s amazing in concert. This song is from her 2013 debut album, but it’s so damn good that it’s been on repeat since I first heard it. You will get addicted.
“Dive” | Caribou
So much anticipation for their 2014 album and they DELIVERED. “Can’t Do Without You” is now an indie anthem, “Our Love” is a bonified jam, but “Dive” is just a pure gem cut from Jammy Jam Mountain. This needs to be a hip-hop sample ASAP.
“Cruel” | The Preatures
OMG THIS IS BAND IS SO FUN!!! Heard one of their songs in 2013 and wanted more and damn they did not disappoint. Their album is one of my favorites of 2014 and this song is, well, you can’t not like this. Ahhhh so fun! COME ON PRESS PLAY!
“Streamers” | Wave Racer
When a scientist looks inside of a pure crystal this is the song they will hear. Because you know, CRYSTALS JAM HARD.
“Weak Knees” | Alex Napping
Alright alright I’ve been jamming a little too hard in this session, so it’s time to slow it down. But damn the JAM LEVEL IS STILL TOO DAMN HIGH. This song will definitely be high on my Top 2014 of 2014 list. Let that guitar just pick away at your heart.
“Fall Back 2U” | Chromeo
Yes, Chromeo has jams with “Come Alive” and “Old 45's” but this closing jam from White Women is my favorite. Sax and vocoder?!? Game. Over.
