Be What You Want to Be Perceived As

Do you want to be known as the person who donates and volunteers their time to meaningful charities? Then, you should already be participating in multiple programs and events. You can’t just wake one morning thinking “I’m a charitable person” and have no proof. You must put in the time and effort in your image. You can’t say that you help people with their businesses if you aren’t giving talks and advice like GaryVee.

Maintain Good a Communication Habit

It doesn’t look good when anyone that takes too much time to respond to emails and messages. Or worse, not responding at all. Respond to messages as quick as possible or choose a specific time of the day where you can sit down and respond to messages. This is a major way to let people know they can rely on you. Having good communication skills also pertains to your conversational qualities. When making calls, does your tone sound lackadaisical or stern?

Networking and Building Relationships

This is something every person should do no matter what career path they take. Networking allows you to link up with multiple like-minded people and others that can help you move forward in the business world. When people hear “networking,” they most likely think of college which is a prime time for students to connect with other classmates, instructors, and more. Instructors can lead to job opportunities that you wouldn’t have found on your own. The social media platform, LinkedIn, has proved to a great tool for professional networking and building relationships that can become long-lasting.

Work to Improve What You Do Every Day

If you want to be an amazing writer, you should be reading and writing every day. We hear this all the time from athletes that spend hours practicing the sport they love. You shouldn’t have the mindset that you’re so good at doing whatever that you don’t have to change your approach and plan. What you have planned today has already been overshadowed by someone else. That’s why you should keep working at what you do. When you think you’re the best, then you still have work to do.

Evolve

As your life changes, so should your image and brand. It’s life. Expect to go through rough moments from time to time. You should be learning from mistakes and successes. Losing big opportunities, taking risks, dealing with personal issues are just a few examples of challenges that you will face and grow from. Growth is moving from those five-minute helpful vlogs to recording hour-long podcasts about your journey and the business. You should not be the same person you were four years ago, not even two years. As Carine Clark said, these times “don’t have to define your brand, but they can refine it.
