What I learnt when my Mother passed away
It was on 22nd May 2018, I got the most painful call from my first cousin. I still remember the exact words.
“Hello Mike, your mother is dead.”
Blunt and straight to the point.
I wanted to ask if he was sure but no words could come out of my mouth. I felt like punching a wall or someone.
I was able to keep calm, thanks to my friend who was by my side.
The whole experience of losing her so soon taught me that, you should never wait.
Time waits for no man.
Don’t wait to ask that girl out.
Don’t wait to start that business.Don’t be ashamed of your work or hustle. Nobody will feed you if you go broke.
Don’t wait to better yourself.
Don’t wait to get that bag.
Don’t procrastinate.
We all really live once. Or better still we live everyday and die once. That’s a guarantee and you can take that to the bank.
Don’t wait to live that perfect life you always picture.
Life is real. It’s real as fuck and we are not living a simulation.
And if it happens to be a simulation, highly doubtful, then a simulation only renders an object when it’s actually being observed (otherwise computing power would need to be infinite)
Like Elon Musk said “physics is a set of compression for the simulation “
We are not computers and our future self is always observing and watching us through memories.
That’s why, from what I have heard, when you are dying your whole life flashes in front of you.
When you become aware of what is going on around you and make the right decisions that are backed by a long term plan of say 5 or 10 years.
You will be able to get control of your damn life. In that time frame.
Death teaches you that
. “One day you’re the cock of the walk, the next a feather duster. ”
— Margot Barber
Do whatever the fuck you want, but keep in mind that you have a 5 or 10 year goals and you need a plan to guide you on how to achieve the goals and ambitions.
Be Humble.
Just as you begin to think you are some king shit, making moves and living large.
The universe will humble you in ways you have never imagined.
“Be the same person, privately, publicly and personally.”
Be patient and keep calm.
Don’t stress yourself out over things you can’t control.
The only thing you can control in this entire world except for your tv remote and that’s not guaranteed, it is how you think.
Just let it hurt and then let it go.
Since before something great happens everything falls apart.
You don’t get anything from stressing.
Most of the stress comes from the way you respond, not the way life is. Since you now know can only control your thoughts, adjust your attitude, and all that extra stress is gone.
Self care in priority.
When you start taking care of yourself you start to feeling better, you start looking better, and you start to attract better. It all starts with you.
Self care is giving the world the best of you instead of what’s left of you.
Take care of yourself first and remember every flower must grow through dirt.
“Pain is real. But so is hope.”
Show appreciation.
Always appreciate what and who you have in your life.
Just trade your expectations for appreciation and the world around you will change instantly.
REMEMBER
“You only got one mama, you only got one father. You only got one life to live no matter who you are”.
That is from
Roger Whittaker’s song
— My Land Is Kenya.
