Five favorite places to visit in Lund, Sweden

Lund is a small town in the south of Sweden. A town that houses a renowned university and a rich history stretching back over a thousand years.

In this article, I want to share some of my favorite places in this medieval town that are worth visiting.

The University Library

This enormous brick building from 1907, created by the Swedish architect Alfred Hellerström, is one of the 26 libraries at Lund University. It’s considered one of the special libraries and holds historically important collections.

The building is located in a beautiful park with the hospital, the university, and the Museum of Sketches for Public Art (Skissernas Museum) as close neighbors. The Museum of Sketches is in itself a great place to visit if you are interested in art.

The facade of the University Library has many intricate details when looking closely. I like to visit the park in different seasons. In the spring the park is filled by a sea of blue flowers. In autumn the leaves covering the…
