The Wonderful Land of NYC

ABC’s Once Upon a Time, Season 3

First, let me start by saying that I am sorry the second post took a while to come by. I have been very busy and will continue to update as much as possible! As some of you may not know, I love Once Upon a Time. I am purely addicted to this show. I am currently on Season 3, where the Wicked Witch of the West is in play. The reason I am telling you this piece of information is, because New York City is a lot like the Land of Oz. How so? How are these two seemingly two different worlds very much alike as a whole? Well for starters, New York City is a big city and a lot of the time it is very easy to get lost in where you are in life. We are all in search of finding what our true fairytale ending should look like and feel like. Often times, we don’t enjoy the moment of life that we are currently in due to the hustle and bustle of the city itself. We are often spending too much time trying to find our happy ending when it could be right in front of us the entire time. In the land of Oz, Dorothy is taken away from home and embarks on a heroic quest to find the Great and Powerful Oz to return back to Kansas. She spends a lot of time trying to find her happy ending, when on this journey she meets some amazing friends, the Scarecrow, the Lion, and the Tin Man. New York City is very much similar in that aspect as well. We spend a lot of time trying to make our career goals happen and that’s when we get networking with some of the wonderful people in the city that get us further along in our career paths. Sometimes we need to learn to just take a big deep breath and live life in the moment. Tonight folks, that’s what I am doing. It’s my day off and I have been watching Once Upon a Time for the last 7 hours. Remember don’t get lost in the Land of Oz, because you may end up wicked and that wouldn’t be a good thing now would it?

Confidently Yours,
