Interesting piece. I have a serious question, since you compared being a chef to other artistic mediums (painting, acting, etc.), how much of a chef’s artistic side can come through when following a recipe? Are they like an actor who takes the material and interprets it in their own way, where the script (recipe) is merely a template from which to build?
