Great article Mitchell (as so many of your others are as well). My only caveat that I would suggest is that while goals (and the process surrounding them) are extremely important as pointers, motivators and accountability holders — I think it is also important to stay very aware and conscious of the “space” between the goals. This is where (I have found, in any case) where things completely off our radar screen show up and present themselves.
I’ve seen what happens when people put extreme focus just on their goals (regardless of how lofty or admirable) only to be shutdown to other possibilities that may far exceed any of the stated intentions or aspirations.
The way I look at goals (and again, I love the process you wrap them in) as stepping stones along the path of life — but they are not what is truly important, just part of the “journey” — which I have found to be far more thrilling and fulfilling than any intended destination.
