Really? I see “alpha” females do that all the time. Power struggles are power struggles, insecurity is insecurity. I wasn’t even trying to make it a “men vs women” issue my point was that, in the process of trying to vulnerable and rebuild, she wrote off a criticism because she didn’t like the tone/way it was presented in and then wrote it off by making assumptions about his character AND based on his gender. Does that not seem like an element that leads to failure? Would being a good CEO not mean understanding how other people communicate, learning to elicit more information from them, gently prod/teach/encourage them to communicate more effectively, encourage people to communicate from strength and not insecurity and, finally, not make the mistake of assuming you know why someone communicates/acts the way they do based on their gender or race? Sorry, she missed a great opportunity here and it is a blind-spot that will affect her next project.
