Clarification on NEO, GAS and Consensus Nodes

Based on what you’ve written here, I see no incentive to become a consensus node in the first place. If the understanding is that we will have low (or non-existent) tx fees, then are there other incentives to become a consensus node?

I suppose I understand the low fee case, but if fees are set at 0, I see no reason why someone would volunteer their computing power to mint new blocks. Do consensus nodes have any sort of status/power that ordinary neo holders do not?

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
