Crumpled Paper/ निचोड़े कागज़

A worthwhile experiment! To get a poem to work in multiple languages sounds like a good challenge, and I think with short pieces like this it is a bit easier. It adds a whole different (and difficult) aspect to the writing, restricting the flow of ideas to one that can be expressed well in both languages, each with their own feeling and flow and shades of meaning. In the end, I imagine it leaves you with not one poem, but not quite two either — something wonderfully in-between, achieving what after-the-fact translation rarely could. (As it happens, I’ve recently toyed with this idea myself, as I am living overseas and in the process of learning a foreign language.) Thanks for sharing. :)
