Leading others through adversity

To my boss:

Leadership is about taking ownership and being disciplined to free you from distraction. When facing challenging times, leaders continue to ask questions and provide transparency so that others can make informed decisions about their future.

To senior leadership:

Leadership is having a presence during both positive and negative times. Trust is built by knowing that as a senior leader, you have the back of those who execute on the goals you have set forth for your team to achieve.

To my family:

Leadership is taking responsibility and easing anxiety about the future path of ones’ career. Family may not understand the decisions you make but they must trust that you are taking ownership of the situation setting yourself up for future success.

To my colleagues:

Leadership is what sets the tone for accountability. Accountability enhances the culture that holds the ship together at all times. When culture dies, the ship sinks and there is no turning back.
