How to Remove Arlo Security Camera from Arlo Account

Do you want to remove an Arlo camera, Smart Hub or base station from your home? If so, you can do so by using your registered Arlo account. This guide will make you aware of the removal process of Arlo security cameras from an Arlo account.

Physically taking off an Arlo device is not considered as its complete removal. It will remain a part of other security cameras configured around until or unless it is completely removed from its registered Arlo account. So in case you no longer need any of your configured Arlo security cameras or Arlo base station here’s the guide to entirely eliminate that from your account. Doing so will delete all the modes and configurations made by you. The removed cameras will reset back to its default factory settings automatically. However, if you want to add the security camera again after removal, you have to reconfigure its settings as per your choice. Also, the camera will be added from your Arlo account.

Steps to Remove an Arlo Device from Your Arlo account

  1. Launch the Arlo app if it’s installed on your device. If you don’t have the app, go to the default login protal of your Arlo device through an internet browser.
  2. For Arlo login my account enter the username and password.
  3. While logging in, ensure that you are using the latest version of a web browser. Obsolete versions can cause issues such as the login page doesn’t open.
  4. After login, navigate to the settings menu and click on the mode option.
  5. Click on the device you want to remove from your home.
  6. After that, click on the disarmed option.
  7. In case you want to remove an Arlo Ultra, Arlo Pro or wire-free Arlo camera, make sure that their individual SmartHub are also in disarmed state.
  8. Next, go to my devices section.
  9. You will see a list of devices. Choose the camera and SmartHub that requires to be removed from your registered Arlo account.
  10. Once done, click on the remove device button.
  11. A confirmation pop-up appears. Simply click on yes button to complete the process.

In this manner, you can remove the unwanted Arlo camera and SmartHub from your account. Please note that removing the Smart Hub will eliminate all the security cameras synced to that Smart Hub. Therefore, make sure to check the cameras synced to a SmartHub before removing it.

Rename Your Netgear Arlo Camera

To avoid confusion between the same Arlo security cameras, it is the best practice to rename the cameras as per your liking. To do so, here is the procedure guide.

Open the Arlo application on your device. Alternatively, you can also visit https arlo.netgear.com web page from a web browser. It is the default login portal for Arlo cameras.

Type the username and password and log in to your Arlo account.

During Arlo login make sure to access the fast internet speed on your device.

Once logged in, navigate to the settings menu.

Click on my devices tab.

As soon as a list of available devices appears, select the camera you want to rename.

Click on the name of your camera.

Enter the new name you want to keep for your security camera.

Thereafter, click on the save button to make the changes effective.

Now, your selected Arlo camera has been renamed. So this was all about removing Arlo security camera, base station or SmartHub from their registered Arlo account.
