Great read. I’ve been currently doing this an all I see to get from some companies is a email they send to everyone asking to do a 2–3hr code test.
Honestly I don’t feel a code test should be a first port of call. I think a phone screening should be. So the potential employee and employer can understand more about each other and if there a fit. Its great that your job took the chance on you. So many hard working developers that put so many hrs in.
