One day, I tried to take control of all my online bios.
I wanted to be consistent about how I was describing myself on the web. Of course, this changed from time to time, with the effect of being a software engineer on LinkedIn but an entrepreneur on Twitter.
This inconsistency was a problem for me. So, I spent time into:
- making a list of websites relevant to me
- writing a cool bio
- copying and pasting it into all websites on the list.
Result? A total failure of course! Every damn website has its validation on the bio, like min/max length and links/markdown sometimes allowed, sometimes not. No way of using the same bio everywhere 🤯.
I then spent some time using a simple text file and then going back and forth between it and the websites, adapting every bio and updating it. Then I wanted to change my bio a little, and here we go again. A big frustration for something that should be just easy and painless.
🦁 Brango is born
I decided to roll up my sleeves and take control of this problem. The requirements were quite clear:
- centralize the bio validation in one place
- keep an overview of all the bios
- have a way to quickly update them.
And here we are: 🦁 Brango is born!
As I started to use it, I was happy to confirm that it solves the pain point. Now I just have one place to store, update and get an overview of all my online bios 🎉.

What’s coming next?
The current version of 🦁 Brango is just the beginning.
The current plan is to add more websites with their validation. If you have one that you would like to have, then feel free to submit it here. There are also more features in the pipeline which will make re-using your bio everywhere way easier 🤩.
