Most scouting organizations around the world are co-ed. The one I belong to (AGESCI, the Italian one) was born in the 1970s from the merger of a male-only and a female-only organization, and the charter specifically recognizes that you cannot properly educate a child in a gender-segregated environment because, simply put, real life isn’t gender-segregated.
