Hard as Nails?

Given that I had the hair extensions, had tried the eyelash extensions I thought I would stick with the fake-theme and try nail extensions. Fake it till you make it ladies.
Never ever have I ever had what you might call ‘good nails’. At best with supplements, daily nail oil rubs and nailtex polish I have had ok nails. By ok I mean they don’t look like a let rats nibble at them, but growth my dearies growth I have never had. White tips have always come in a bottle.
Off to Sugardolls in Blanchardstown with me of but a Saturday when I had time on my hands and was up for devilment. I had intended to just get shellac but I was on a sugar-buzz from the strawberry frappe and things were about to escalate real fast.

The frappe hadn’t helped but pinterest was really to blame. A darling by the name of Natasha provided me with these gel extensions and informed me that gel is better than acrylic as it isn’t as hard on the nail bed and unlike acrylic if you catch your nail in something you don’t lose the finger just the gel overlay. For anyone who has ever lost an acrylic nail and most of their natural nail in a house-mishap I feel your pain my loves I really do.

Pro tip! Get thee to a pound/euro shop and get some nail scrubs. Dirt gets trapped under these bad boys and just washing your hands won’t cut it. I have a nail scrub in work, one in the bathroom and one in the kitchen. Nothing nastier than dirty nails!
How do I feel?

Will I keep them — no. Why? They were €65 to start with the refills starting at €45 — amazing if you have a big event or a holiday or just have the cash to splurge. Most things are fine with them — I can type, clean the house, the dogs think my ‘scratchies’ are amazing and the cats are in lurve. That said I don’t find writing as comfortable and a few buttons have caused me heart ache.
Will I get them again? Probably — nothing like a quiet Saturday for me to get myself in trouble :)
