Happy Alone or Happy Together

In the world, lots of stuffs have copyright laws to protect. However, we can still get and share information in the Internet without copyright laws and it called copyleft.

Most of people like copyleft instead of copyright because people do not like restrict by the others. They love to share however someone thinks he or she cannot get equal return.

Copyright and copyleft have to be balance in the world because they are indispensable.

For example, I designed unique jewellery and I cannot share my design with the other designer because it is my hard work. If my design does not have copyright law to protect, everyone can copy my design and my work is worthless.

Lots of people love to use Wikipedia to do research because it has detailed information. For example, I search ‘Australia’ in Wikipedia, it has lots of information about Australia and the information is detailed. It included etymology, history, government, state and territories, foreign relations and military, geography and climate, environment, economy, demographics, and culture. People can get nearly all the information about Australia in Wikipedia. However, all of this information is come from 383 references. They are not one person’s hard work but everyone in the world can see it, use it and share it to the others.

I had seen Selina Ng’s post and she mention copyright is important and ‘it is designed to balance the economic and moral rights of creators with the interest of society in using and enjoying works of authorship’. She also use her own experience to prove copyright is important in the world.

Sometimes, we just did a little action like click the ‘share’ button, but that action make another person’s work worthless.
