Reading #2 makes me grateful that I am well into my 40’s. When I was a much younger woman, there was only the expectation of hairless armpits and legs. Oh, there was also the unwritten rule that a woman ought not to let her private hairs become public hairs while wearing swimwear. I’m glad that I did not grow up in an era when more spartan grooming was expected. It would have been one more reason to feel I didn’t measure up.
