You are (already) successful
Start believing in yourself and that great things are possible for you.
People who know me, know that I am more of a reader than a publisher. I love reading Medium regularly and I love how personal the stories are and how people open up and pour their hearts out. I recall all the posts that made me sit back and think, wow that was deep. Whether you write for yourself, for a select few or for the masses, your words are edged in indelible ink which hopefully you can return to one day and review and see just how far you’ve come. I have a message for all of you. Don’t give up, this is only the beginning. You have a wonderful road ahead of you. If your aim is to improve, build something or to become a better person all you have to do is put one foot in front of the other. One more post, one more run around the block, one more sales pitch, one more tech draft. You are much further along than you think, much further than the one who never started. We don’t know how much time we have (I keep coming back to this because it is fundamental).
Someone is writing about living with cancer. He doesn’t know how much time he has, but he is making the most of every day.
Someone is writing how they feel they are not successful. Stop that negative self-talk, you are closer to success than you think.
Someone is struggling to pay bills. I know how that feels. I was there not too long ago.
Someone is posting every day for 90 days. Someone else is writing every day for a year. Someone else is afraid to publish (just like me).
Someone else is dealing with the death of a loved one.
I can’t remember them all. I am just fascinated that we are all strangers, yet so connected in the most intimate of ways. I have a challenge for you. Someone around you may be going through a difficult time, and maybe you can’t offer much, but you can offer a kind word, a gentle touch, a smile. You think you have nothing to offer, but to someone else it may be the only kind word they hear that day. Go out of your way today to be nice to someone. I bet you at the end of today, you will be the one feeling happier and more fulfilled.
Life is too short. Start living. Today!
