Most businesses started with a goal of making positive cash flows. It is only recently that Silicon Valley has gotten so big and the “startup” game has become the fund-raising exiting madness that it is now.
It is reassuring to read an article like this where one gets to see another side of startups. This honestly feels more relatable to me than the Silicon Valley type. Perhaps because I am also from Hong Kong.
I’m curious about how you and your other two founders supported yourselves in the beginning? Was it just positive cash flow from the outgo and you were able to pay yourself income? Reading the article it seems like you haven’t had much job experience before Oursky and so probably wouldn’t have a lot of savings to rely on.
