MN countdown #45

the daily invitation

I have said multiple times that if I could have lunch with one living person in the world, it would be Elisabeth Elliot. A few months ago, I read her book “Be Still My Soul” and was challenged to make moments in my every day life where my soul could find rest. It is so easy these days to fill our lives with noise and busyness and forget the invitation that our Creator has for us every day to get away and be with Him; yes, I do think that there is an invitation every single day.

Over the last couple months, my schedule has me working downtown at 5:30 am, which means waking up at 3:30 am to catch the bus at 4:30 am. Though it is challenging when most of the city is still in slumber, I have found the morning quiet very peaceful for my soul. Sometimes I think about how different my college experience would have been if I had experienced this peace that I feel here.

When I move back to Cali, I know that my schedule will look different, but there will still be the invitation to come and rest with Him. In this season of life, how does your soul find rest?
