Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson provided information about the hypothetical location of “Barbie World” using scientific reasoning. He determined that, based on the moon’s orientation in the Barbie movie, the latitude would fall between 20 and 40 degrees North, with palm trees narrowing it to 20–30 degrees.

Considering the sun and moon rising over the ocean, he concluded that Barbie World would likely be situated in the Florida Keys of the United States.

In addition to this, deGrasse Tyson discussed the controversy surrounding Barbie dolls’ body types and sexualization, pointing out how Barbie challenged traditional gender roles by not being a homemaker and occupying different roles.

He also shared insights on the accuracy of a movie’s depiction of the atomic bomb explosion, acknowledging a minor inaccuracy but giving credit to Christopher Nolan for overall attention to detail. These discussions, while unexpected from a renowned astrophysicist, showcase deGrasse Tyson’s engagement with pop culture and diverse topics.
