Day 2
Today I switched Herb to Khan Academy, so he can learn some of the fundamentals of programming at a slower pace before he jumps into Swift. Some cool structure that we implemented today (that actually worked really well): Six degrees, goal setting, workshop with Jason Green.
I’m not feeling particularly HAM at the moment, and I’m not sure why. iOS development is cool, but I don’t really care about it. I like going HAM on our students, but I haven’t gotten super into it yet because I’m still getting to know them. I’ve lost some of the passion and spark I had last session because it feels like there is no longer a place for “fun” and organic relationship building. We are moving towards more of that, and I know that the team values it but at the moment it’s all about going HAM on things that I don’t really care about. However, I remain optimistic, and I’m excited to see how the program progresses.
