As a former Democrat turned independent, I find opinions like this depressing. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Sloganeering, marching and catharctic demonstrations of “resistance” by weaponizing your keyboard may make you feel better, but winning elections and governing is all about consensus building and garnering the support of a broad coalition of voters, not just a “base”. Roosevelt, Kennedy, Bill Clinton all won their victories by understanding this. The pragmatists are the adults in the Democratic Party and you need to listen to them and above all, organize and do the unglamorous work in the trenches if you want your party to remain relevant.
