As someone who had a bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction, I know how important it is to be your own advocate as you navigate the options presented to you by a plethora of sources. In choosing a plastic surgeon, it is vitally important to find one who is more than willing to speak to you about what’s possible for THEM to do with YOUR body. Reconstructed breasts do not look like boob-jobs; and it’s important to know this going in. But they can be good, and Sheila’s experience is heartbreaking. Thank you for this article.
