TRUMBO

Brian Cranston plays Trumbo an American screenwriter who was blacklisted as part of the investigation into un American activities and as a member of the Communist Party. The film details his trial, subsequent imprisonment , the effect it has on his family and his attempt to circumvent the blacklist by assuming a myriad of aliases. It is an interesting story of an often overlooked part of history.Well acted, intelligently scripted and sympathetically told.

It is interesting to see the involvement in this process of some of Hollywood ‘s biggest stars such as John Wayne, Edward G Robinson and Kirk Douglas. (score 3.5/5).
