Mets, Padres. Here it comes

Padres Side of the Diamond
The New York Mets will play the San Diego Padres Thursday. Perdomo will start for the Padres. Perdomo is 4–5 with a 4.71 ERA. When your looking at Perdomo’s numbers you will notice something strange. Among pitchers with as many innings as Perdomo no pitcher has induced grounders at a higher clip then Perdomo’s 65.3 percent mark. Perdomo is like your average starter with the 73 strikeouts he has trying to reach 100. the 4–5 pitcher hoping to get to 5–5 or at least not 4–6 which is the worst that can happen. If he gets to 5–5 the start after this one could make him 6–5. The Padres have yet to make a big statement over the mets this year except maybe they won 2 out of 3 in New York earlier this season but the best choice this San Diego has right now is to is to split the apple in half. The worst thing that could happen is the Padres win 1 and the New York Mets get 3 wins. If that is what happens to this Padres team, the Mets who are 8–5 before tonights game will become 9–5 though it could always be the other way around the Padres win this one and they do split the apple… The mets will be heading to Seattle 8–6 off the break. The Padres would be 7–7 (the Padres are 6–7 before tonight) but either way, the Padres are heading to Pittsburgh Friday to play the Pirates.
Mets Side of the Diamond
The other side of the diamond belongs to the New York Mets who have been up all night in the time there used to but up at regular time in the west cost. The mets starter tonight, and I don’t mean pitcher starter even though he is the starting pitcher tonight for the Mets. I mean debut kind of starter, but even that is not the surprising part because Zack Wheeler was just placed on the disabled list earlier list week, the surprising part is that the pitcher was called up from double A not triple. Double. Double, but his numbers tell a different story. He’s 6–1 with a 1.76 going from single to double a. This pitchers name is Chris Flexen and tonight is his chance to get eyes and ears on him for 2018. the only other player in the Mets lineup thats faced the padres pitcher is Jay Bruce who is batting 333 vs. Perdomo in 3 at-bats and has a homer and a RBI against Perdomo. Flexen was chosen out of one other pitcher-Marcos Molina. The choice wasn’t so hard, Flexen being a little better then Molina, and collins said Flexen was similar to injured Mets pitcher Robert Gsellman that the both threw good fastballs because both of them keep their fastballs low in the zone. Flexen was picked up by the mets in the 14th round from high school. You may not know what to expect from the 23 year old at the major league level even though he was brilliant in single and double (going 6–1 like I said before) you never know at the major league level. The Mets lineup is as follows: 1 Michael Conforto CF 2 Asdrubal Cabrera SS 3 Yoenis Cespedes LF 4 Jay Bruce 1B 5 Wilmer Flores 2B 6 Curtis Granderson RF 7 Travis d’Arnaud C 8 Matt Reynolds 3B 9 Chris Flexen P.
