A Lost Treasure from the Jim Henson Workshop

“Bar-B-Que” by Emmett Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas
December 11, 2014

We had a power outage last night, so this one is late. My apologies.

I was introduced to this movie a few years ago, and I’m still surprised that it hasn’t seen a resurgence in popularity. Cause it’s adorable.

The sets are elaborate and beautiful, the songs — written by longtime Muppets collaborator and Carpenters songwriter (among many others) — Paul Williams, and the story of a young otter and his ma dreaming their way out of poverty via a local talent show is as sweet as it is heartbreaking.

What else can I say? This one…it just makes me happy.
