“You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch”
December 21st, 2014

How could you not love this song? Seriously, what are you? Some kinda…Grinch? (Ugh. Sorry, gang.) Christmas, nostalgia, and the whole lot aside, this is such a great composition.
The lyrics, written by the good Doctor himself, are different from the average Suessian cadence but still unmistakably him; the music, written by veteran Broadway composer Albert Hague (and Fame and Space Jam star?) are their perfect rhapsodic foil; and the vocal was exquisitely performed by none other than Tony the mother effin’ Tiger. (Whose real name is Thurl. Yup. Thurl. Thurl Ravenscroft. How the hell did I end up with the milquetoast name I did when there are options like Thurl Ravenscroft lying around. Dammit.)
