After surviving Dragon’s Den and turning down an unprecedented offer from Peter Jones in the show’s Season Premier, the Frame Again Founders have turning to the public to crowdfund the investment they need.
The campaign went live during the show on Sunday night and the duo hit their £20,000 funding goal in under 12 hours. Frame Again are currently overfunding through Crowdfunding site Seedrs: (http://www.seedrs.com/startups/frame-again).
Jake Hayman and Joe Kenyon, the Camden Town entrepreneurs behind Frame Again have just completed a five year mission to help improve careers support in state schools nationwide through the social enterprise they launched, Future First.
They are now, in Joe’s words: looking to make printing and framing photos cool again for the new generation of smartphone photographer.
Jake said: We turned down Peter’s offer but were flattered that he saw us as real competition to Jessops. We’ve turned to the Crowd as we think that having an army of smaller scale investors will help us build the business much better than any single one.
Going on Dragon’s Den was just like running our pop up shop in Camden Market — a bit of bartering and a bit of bantering and everyone in good spirits.
