Laurel Falls
I wake while still dark and realize that I’ve been sleeping with MoMo, Hightop’s dog. April 23rd.
It’s a small gentle and friendly dog. However, since the floor next to my bed was occupied by a sleeping Hightop, with my hiking clothes right in front of his face, I slowly grabbed my clothes, my towel and shoes, then with some agility, moved myself around MoMo to exit the bed and head for the men’s bathroom and shower building. My time nomadically living has helped set my head to being accustomed to communal living. It feels natural to share life with many others on this same journey. I believe that all people are on the same journey for survival and trying to find meaning in their lives.
Due to the large restricted tenting area, due to the bear activity, and it now requiring a 16+ mile day, I ended up slack packing 9 miles with Treehugger. It was one of the most beautiful 9 miles I’ve yet hiked, ending near Laurel Falls, a stunning beautiful falls cascading down huge boulders of chiseled rock. Tomorrow will be a 13 mile hike with plans to arrive in Damascus by Tuesday. Good night.
