The Most Painless Guide To Writing A Book

I brainstorm and write stories in much the same way, but I make use of various apps that sync among my iMac, MacBook, iPhone, and iPad. Since I’m within arm’s reach of one of these at all times (even in the bathroom), I can capture whatever floats into my head. I’ve never actually sat down and written down a bunch of titles (an excellent idea), but I often hear words or phrases that strike me as captivating titles, so I jot them down in Simplenote. I use Evernote to capture and store tidbits I find online that spark story ideas or inspire characters and settings. Once I decide to develop a story, I create a diagram much like you do, but I use a mindmapping app (MindNode) on either my Mac or iPad. When I’m ready to start writing, I can export an OPML file to Scrivener. I schedule chapter goals and keep track of my progress in Todoist. Alas, I’m an elderly geek!
