I just can’t get on board with Next.js. It simplifies configuring React, but in my experience, it doesn’t do it as well as create-react-app. It removes the flexibility of a pure React app, while adding quirks that would absolutely destroy a professional environment, such as waiting to report errors until several changes after they’ve been made (I like my cause with my effect, thank you). I’m sure the team will fix these things as time goes on, but I’m still not sold on how much it actually offers over create-react-app.

GraphQL however, I definitely like the idea of. My limited experience with it on personal projects has been fantastic and can’t wait for the opportunity to use it for larger projects that tend to migrate needs over time.
