Post about resourcefulness and audience care.

You’ve probably walked past street musicians and know how greatly the attitude towards their art can vary — it’s a matter of taste. But what are some universal solutions that can help increase the percentage of those who decide to support not only with their attention but also with money? Here are three non-obvious approaches that are definitely worth trying:

1. Set up a transparent money box.
Overcome distrust and stay open.

2. Fill the box with money to 1/3.
A kind of social proof. “Other people have already supported — it’s all good! Don’t hesitate and join in.”

3. Place the box at waist level.
Be as accessible as possible. Allow people to support you with minimal effort. A child will reach it, and an adult won’t have to take awkward poses under the watchful eyes of other passersby.

These were general examples of business principles.

🎁 Bonus: couple of specific ideas for young musicians (share with your friends):

- Use social networks.
Livestream performances on TikTok and Instagram. Maintain an active social media profile with snippets from your performances. Utilize technology’s potential. It’s not as difficult as it may seem.

- Collaboration.
Offer mutually beneficial conditions to a coffee shop, clothing store, bar, or art gallery
both parties need foot traffic and attention! A musician can attract attention, and a business can pay for it.

Don’t forget to react if you found this helpful or interesting👍
