This is exactly the kind of research that has been needed. Economically it is obvious that gross imbalances in wealth distribution reduces growth. But the perspective of upward mobility is much more human and is focused on quality of life rather than statistical abstraction. It then does not make sense to allow wealth to be held by so few in an economy. How do we correct this now? Is it possible to do without active redistribution? I don’t think so but this needs to be discussed and then acted on . . .
