Using Layered Lit to Mix Texture Maps
Today, I learned about Layered Lit materials on the HDR Pipeline and how to use them to create a new material by combining two existing ones.
First thing I did was create a new material and set its shader settings to HDRP/Layered Lit. Then, I added the two materials I wanted to mix together. For this example, I used Stone_04 and Grass_01.
At first, it only showed one of the two materials for the entire material. To fix this, I needed to add a layer mask. I used the stone mask map and when I added it into the dual material, it changed to include both materials onto my object.
That’s it! All I needed to do was add the two materials to the new dual material and add a layered mask to mix them together.
