Part 10: The Study of James — James 5:7–11
I will be patient in the little trails, to preserve in the big trials!
I will be Patient — James 5:7–8
1 Corinthians 13:4a says, Love is patient and kind.
Both James and Paul knew the importance of patience. Patience is the key ingredient in Love. We are called to be patient as we wait on the Lords return. We are not to sit back and “watch the world burn” but to look for every opportunity to share the Gospel with the lost. Let your light burn bright as the world grows darker.
Stop the Gossip — James 5:9
Romans 2:1 says, “You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things.”
”A lot of problems in the world would disappear if we would talk to each other instead of about each other”
Are you a victim of Gossip? Have you been guilty of grumbling and complaining about someone? What ever side you fall on, take the next few minuets and spend them in prayer, asking God to reveal the next step in reconciliation. And then in obedience to God take that step.
I will Preserver — James 5:10–11
The life of Job is the perfect picture of what it means to preserver. Over the next week read throughout the book of Job. Here’s what you can expect:
Job 1:1–3 starts of by showing us just how blessed Job is.
Job 1:6–12 shows the character of Job as God himself calls him “blameless — a man of complete integrity.
Job 1:13–19 is the moment that Job looses everything. His animals, servants, and his 7 sons and 3 daughters.
Job 1:20–22 we see how Job responds to the losses in his life. Instead of blaming God, he falls on his face and worships Him.
Would this be you reaction to loosing everything? Could you, in the moment of complete loss, worship God. Even though we may not understand Gods plan, we can always count on his promises. Win or lose we should praise God.
Job 42:10–16 shows how God blesses Job for his faithfulness as God doubles his live stock and gives him 7 more sons and 3 more daughters.(who were the most beautiful in all the land) God even allows him to live 140 more years.
Do you often question God about situations in your life? Do you find yourself asking God to take the pain and suffering away? God doesn’t promise to take it away but he does promise to walk us through it.
1 Corinthians 13:7 says, “Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”
Weather you are walking through a storm, just got done walking through one or maybe the sun is shinning bright, trials will come. If we aren’t patient in the little ones then there is no way we are ever going to preserver when the big ones hit. Our faith will crumble and we will be lost. Seek Gods will in all you do and stand on his promises.

If you have never signed up for a small group well now is the time. As Christ followers we are called to do life together in community. So that way when we are walking through a trail we can come alongside each other and encourage one another as a family should.
