What is GISH?

Everyone is seeking a way to do something good for themselves and others in a world where daily life is changed on a weekly, monthly, daily basis. There are a lot of ways to do good. To be a do-gooder, as the comic villains are wont to say. Of course, no one wants to suffer an unreasonable amount of pain and suffering while doing good. You’re in the best place to do good in your community, so it’s my job to help you help others receive some “goods” secondhand.
So, here are a few ways you can do some Good In SecondHand (GISH):

Rock in woodchips, painted like an egg and reading “Have an egg-cellent day!”

Paint a stone and hide it: You’re optimistic. Providing someone you’ll never meet with a small bit of magic, a little bit of inspiration. You’re adding something to the lives of complete strangers.

Red and white dahlia flower.

Find a flower, share a picture with a friend: It takes a few extra seconds to take a picture and share it with a friend. Smell it, enjoy its beauty. Maybe look up what kind it is for when one of your friends asks. I’ve been doing this for a couple years now and it does good both first and secondhand. You get an excuse to explore and enjoy a little bit of the outside world, your friends and/or family get to share a small moment of the world and the excellent way that the flowers reflect…
