Introduction
Hello, I’m Michael Raphael, the author of this blog. My interest lies at the intersection of business, technology and innovation. The world is currently undergoing a manufacturing revolution with tremendous advancements in the fields of robotics, artificial intelligence and automation being made every day. I am most interested in covering these topics from a business strategy perspective. This blog will be used as an opportunity to apply the business theories I learn in the classroom to understand and explore how advancements in technology will shape the future of business.
Currently, I am a 1st year Global MBA candidate at Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School concentrating in financial analysis and entrepreneurship. I am also the Director of the Johns Hopkins Private Equity & Venture Capital Club.
Recently, I began working with the Baltimore Angels, an angel investor group with the goal of making profitable investments in early-stage, technology-based companies in the Baltimore area. There I am responsible for everything from deal sourcing, to managing deal flow to conducting in-depth analysis on investment opportunities. Upon graduation, I am interested in continuing my career in venture capital.
