Gasping For Air

In spite of our evolution

We continue to drowned

We allow the underbelly of societies secretes

To remain in controllable atmospheres

Though what we typically would control

Somehow falls upon deaf ears

It’s a formality in which we take on more than needed

Living twenty steps behind the eight ball

While maintaining a fixed perception

That we’re forty steps ahead

Lies upon lies we force feed the world

Our social appearances become our downfall

We aim to please & tell stories in fictitious magnitudes

Just to uncover that we are all drowning

We drown ourselves in debt

We drown ourselves in heartache

We drown ourselves in everyone else’s Bullshit

When will we finally wake up to see that life

Is not stoping

We are not getting younger

Time is only getting shorter

The further we postpone our destinies

The further we drown

We must take a stand for our own well being

Nobody will ever save us

Nobody will ever care about our individual lives as much as ourselves

When we have a moment to sit in silence

We can hear the ocean around us

We can feel the mist upon our withered face

We will recognize that this moment

Will be the first moment

We stop drowning &

Start living
