Thin Ice

One of the most challenging things in terms of personal development

Is to sit quietly and allow our mind to drift along with no resistance

Often times, we become so consumed and undated with the world around us, the distractions and sounds constantly notifying that someone else is more deserving of our time

We run so fast and climb even faster to countless blockages that never reflect who we are

It’s as though everything we should be doing becomes a daunting task and we replace the effort with a heavy dose of secluded tendencies

Hiding from, yet never dealing with, is an optical illusion

We know there’s a problem just within arms reach, yet we fight the reality and replace it with a different image

We’d rather drift through our life than take a stand and fight for what is always most important

No matter how much we have in our lives, without a definitive connection to ourselves, none of it will matter

It will always feel as though we live amongst a pond, skating on thin ice until the weight can’t be bared anymore

Frozen with panic, we fight for a breath though never find a moment of reassurance

Through all the pain and suffering

We never seem to sit within and drive the world away

Instead, we allow the world to steer our destinations for us and open every possible door that leads to another dead end road

For the sake of yourself

For the sake of your mind

For the sake of your heart

Stop. Relax. Breathe. Reflect

For every time the world seems bigger than life, and it all seems to reside on your shoulders

Take a step back

Show gratitude for the things we do have and focus on how much left we have to live

Even the hardest hardships seem minuscule compared to the greater good of discovering who we are

One breathe at a time
