I’m not really sure we should be having this debate since it’s not going to change anyone’s mind;)

Debate is not a form of witnessing. Neither is it done for the purpose of convincing our opponents that they are wrong and we are right.

As already mentioned, the theist-atheist debate is inevitable and is happening whether we like it or not. We only have three choices:

1. Don’t show up and let the atheist have the floor
2. Show up and do a bad job
3. Show up and hold our own

Which of the options we choose will significantly affect the degree to which society at large will take our witnessing seriously in the years to come.
