There is a theory that the clay may have been birthplace of life on Earth. To be accurate — first DNA was made of crystals. And the evolution of crystals gave birth to organic life.

First cellular organisms appeared 3.5 billion years ago.

In the deadly race of survival, cooperation was invented and multicellular organism appeared. In order to manage the whole organisms, a neural system appeared and evolved to a human brain.

Today humanity going to give a birth to the new form of life made up of silicon. Digital machines.

The organic life is only a mediator on the way of evolution of life from clay to silicon. That is the irony of evolution.

The missed piece to call machines alive is self-replication.
