Tell Me Your Three

Preparing to bring 2015 in the girlfriend and I were in Yosemite late December 2014. In the vastness of the wilderness one night, we decided to commit to a habit of sharing three things that we are grateful for, for that day.

Now we live two hours away from each other and I am in the military so our form of communication isn’t as close as being with someone within 20 minutes of driving distance.

The hardest part in the beginning was giving it the thought of breaking down how your day went. It helps you rewind the events from the start. You notice how much meaning the ability to do laundry is.

Returning home from a deployment, typing it aids me in reflecting my own three this past year:

  • Faith- active involvement at the local church, seeing my younger become stronger in his faith, and being able to be present spiritually
  • Family/ Friends- their love and support while I was away and letting me know that even though I was gone they its as if I never left
  • Country- pride in my work, and seeing others return home to their loved ones

This daily ritual has helped in seeing the silver linings during grey skies. The practice is simple. At the end of the night, three things in that day to be thankful for. I highly encourage others to do this. Even if it one thing to more than three. So share with me and other, what were your three for 2015?
