Ever since I learned that this was a thing on Seamless, I stopped using the service, and began using a different service called Caviar. Unlike Seamless, where they take a large percentage from a restaurant order, this company charges a delivery fee of $1.99 to $6.99, which is how they make their money. There is an automatic service fee of 18 percent. The total bill comes out noticeably higher than if you were to choose to use a service like Seamless, but the unnoticeable reason is that there is less gouging going on.
