Reflections on Staying Motivated

Motivation is a very important topic for me. I would love to be motivated every single day, but the reality is that some days I would rather just sit around taking it easy, watching TV, or at least think about other things in my life that are easier to tackle.

One issue that has been a reoccurring theme in my life: I am able to be inspired easily by an idea or thought about a particular goal I wanna achieve in life, but I will not be able to follow through on the consistent effort required to see that goal to the end. I will either lose interest, plateau, or just be content with the progress that I’ve made towards that particular goal and not do anything else. Slowly, I’ll put less and less work towards that goal and it will just fade away from my daily routine.

I’ve gotten better at being aware when this happens, and I’ll make a checklist of what I need to do in order to accomplish my goals. However, I end up needing to prioritize certain things over others, and eventually some things just end up being in the back of my mind consistently.

There are many factors that tie into staying motivated, and having enough energy and health is something that I need to prioritize. Getting enough sleep, working out consistently, and having a healthy diet will allow me to have more energy to remain motivated and stay focused in achieving my goals.

Every day I need to find inspiration through people that I look up to or want to become as successful as. Checking on my favorite bloggers, writers, and news articles on my interests sometimes feels like a chore, but it’s definitely necessary in building my desire to carry on with my goals.

I also need to remember to not stretch myself out too thin. I have so many different interests that it’s hard not to just keep jumping back and forth, but the only way I can get to another goal is if I focus all my energy on only one goal first.

I’ve come a long way in the past year, but it will still take a lot of work on a consistent basis in order to become a successful person. The most important thing I should focus on each day when I wake up should be to get into a state of feeling motivated. Whenever I finally get into that motivated state, it feels like I can tackle the world. Why not try to have this feeling every single day? :)
